OBJECTS SELECTION METHOD

Before everything I need to say sorry because my mother tongue is not English but I'll try to do my best.

Is possible to select objects which are not shown on the screen at the moment by clicking in two points and crossing these objects ?

I'll try to give an example with a video. In the video I tried to select just the red horizontal polylines but I failed because at the end I just selected five of these polylines.

Thanks for your help !

Hi,

sorry that you did not show the version of your AutoCAD, because AutoCAD 2017 Update 1 started to have that option, older versions can't select objects which are not visible in your current window when ending the window or crossing selection.

Hi,

In AutoCAD 2018 and later versions, you can begin a selection window in one part of your drawing and then pan and zoom to another part while maintaining selection of the off-screen objects! You can control the behavior of off-screen selection using the SELECTIONOFFSCREEN system variable. But in your case if you're using earlier version i suggest to use LAYISO and isolate those red lines then select them after that you can use LAYERP command to get all previous layer ON . now type the command you need Like MOVE then when you asked to select objects type P ( Previous ) to get select your red lines .

Hi,

>> I've just installed the AutoCAD 2017 service pack 1

There is a difference between "Service Pack 1" and "Update 1" ... you need to install "Update 1.2" (which is the most current update for 2017).

If you start AutoCAD and command _ABOUT, the version shown should be equal to that:
