Objects Not Showing Up in Viewbase

I am new to AutoCAD, but I have been using Inventor for the last several years.  I was excited to find the view base and projected views since they are so similar to how Inventor sets up views and sections.  I was able to use view base successfully with one model to show multiple section views of a space.  However when I tried with second model of a separate space in a separate file only one of the 3D objects show up.  All the appropriate layers are turned on.  I have tried turning off the layers and then turning them back on again, as was suggested in another post, that didn't work.  In both files the model has been XREFed in to the file to generate the layouts.  Both models contain multiple XREFs that create the overall model.

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

This is a known defect with Viewbase. One of the workarounds is to scale the entire contents of the model by 1.0001 and then create the views.

If you have mirrored blocks in your model they can cause this too. You might redefine the mirrored instances as a new block.

Thank you for the welcome.

I tried scaling it, there was no effect.  No mirrored blocks, no blocks at all actually.  There might be a couple of mirrored XREFs of sub-assemblies in the overall assembly.  Would that cause the same issue?

Hi @Anonymous,

Try scaling twice 🙂 I have found this to work sometimes. And yes, the Xref mirroring would do the same as a mirrored block.

You are welcome to attach some files here for me to investigate.

I am working through the mirrored XREFs and that seems to be fixing it.  Thank you.
