Trying to open (and confirm if valid AutoCad) .dwg files and Getting Error - ~ Non AutoDesk DWG . Saved by sotware that was not .....   I CAN open see "Layout " tab, but NOT anything on "Model" screen.  Using AutoDesk DWG TrueView 2022 to try and access. Files were sent from a designer , and unsure what product they were created with. I Assumed AutoCad..  Please help ... I'm a Novice with TrueView & .dwg's . Thanks

Hi Brian,
Welcome to the Autodesk Forums.
I used RECOVER Command on your attached drawing. It opened with no errors and said it was created or saved last with the real deal AutoCAD.
I had to use ZOOM >> EXTENTS to see the elevation view of the house.

Hi Dave,
Thanks so very much. While I couldn't locate a "Recover" command feature
on TrueViewer ... I did the other steps you recommended, and All good!
Appreciate your time & expertise!

Brian,
When I opened your drawing in AutoCAD it said it was a "trusted" real deal Autodesk file. Trying just now in DWG TrueView I see what you're saying about it being a "non Autodesk" drawing. It even shows that the drawing was created by a software called Chief Architect Premier X12, which I've not heard of.
DWG TrueView doesn't seem to have a "recover" command. I just downloaded TrueView last week and your post gave me a reason to open it and see how it worked.
