All,
Have 2010 on Win7 running on a laptop. No text on drawings. No text on dims, no text in note fields, and no text on title block.
All layers on and not frozen.
I look at the same file on my tower and it comes over just fine.
I've seen many posts but nothing that give a good answer.
Could this be a hardware issue, settings issue, software load issue?
Thanks,
John Wachter
First guess is that you are missing one of more fonts on the laptop.
Open the drawing from scratch. When it's done opening, open the text window and scroll back to the top. Any messages about font replacement?
On the laptop, open the STYLE dialog and look at the various textstyles. Any of the fonts have a yellow shield by them, like this?
Type qtext and make sure it's set to OFF. It's a setting that temporarily turns off all your text to speed up AutoCAD if you've got a really large file.
Thanks but does not seem to be the problem.
With this option, you would see the rectangular boxes in place of the text.
On the file, there is nothing displayed for the text.
See attachment.
"Try the command AIOBJECTSCALEADD, type in All and hit Enter
Will the texts show up?"
Thanks for the information but this did not work either.
We are going to try to reload the software and see if that works.
I'll keep the group informed on the results.
Thanks.
With respect to the missing font type,
this will not work because AutoCad will substitue the simplex font for the missing font type.
this is not happening.
Thanks for the input.
With respect to the missing font type,
this will not work because AutoCad will substitue the simplex font for the missing font type.
That can happen if FONTALT is set to "simplex" (or another font), but it's also possible that FONTALT is set to nothing and SHX warnings are be disabled - in which case the drawing would open and any text or mtext with the missing font would be blank/empty.
OP can you post the problem file?
