Hi there,

I dont seem to be able to get the tool palette ribbon to load.

I can open the Menubar fine.

Command: MENUBAR
Enter new value for MENUBAR <0>: 1

but when i go Tools>Palettes>Ribbon i get this...
Command: _ribbon Unknown command "RIBBON". Press F1 for help.

have tried To Reset the Application to the Default Settings as per link https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-lt/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2020/ENU/Au...

I tried "Unknown command" when entering commands in AutoCAD but it doesn't help and everything is already at the correct settings.

Im running the latest Autocad version on windows 10. (it is a student version but i think it functions exactly the same)

I have also tried to reset the CUIx per https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to...

Interestingly the command shortcut still seems to exist. when I type RIB the drop-down menu shows RIBBON as an option but it still wont execute  - Unknown command "RIBBON". see attached PNG for example.

the program seems to freeze for a few seconds before saying Unknown command.

ribbon still in command line.PNG

Could this be a workspace issue?

Change workspaces and see if that helps

Otherwise you have a major reinstall ahead of you, then you also need to ensure you have the 2020.1.3 update installed.

You have something else going on https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCA...

Might be time to take your computer to a repair shop if a factory reset is not an option. back up fully first.

I have been dealing with this for months and still cannot get the Ribbon back.

Does anybody knows how to fix it?

I did a clean uninstall deleting temps, registry and all that, re-installed it but still the same..

I have tried also all the troubleshooting steps but nothing seems to work.

Please help!!

Lots of troubleshooting tips are found in here, how much of it have you tried so far

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Ribbon-and-toolbar...

OR... here is how to open a support case with Autodesk if you are on subscription to seek out Autodesk Support's help:

I cannot open those links, both show "404 error".
I tried a lot of the tips, trying to reset to default, type "Ribbonclose" or "ribbon" and many more with the same results,
I tried to do a clean uninstall and then reinstall it with Administrator rights, deleting the registry entries...
Almost everything i found related to "unknown commands" i had tried with no luck

Hi, the solution I ended up finding was to reinstall windows and factory
reformatting the pc. It’s by no means the most elegant solution but it
worked. I don’t remember which of the above trouble shooting I tried but I
do remember trying many different solutions from both Autodesk and online
forums and non of them worked.
