No "bind" option for XREFs

In my earlier version of AutoCAD binding xref's was simple to do but now with 2011 version the "bind" option is no longer there. I need to bind an xref into a drawing. I highlight the xref in the list of xref's in the drawing and right click and choose external references and there is no bind option.

All I read in the "search" didn't fully address this.

I'm stuck and I must get past this issue. Please offer suggestions.

Thanks,

Russell

If you are using the XREF palette, simply right-click on the xref name there and select your bind option.
Or start up the old command that is like the old AutoCAD version: CLASSICXREF is the name, type it http://www.cad-addict.com/2009/02/autocad-getting-back-old-xref-manager.html

Using the palate to bind makes the xref disappear but will reappear if I thaw all or regen but is still an xref. The classic method I get "..one xref failed to bind due to a problem proxy object...".

Well, I guess this xref has something that is preventing me from binding so I opened it and did a clipboard copy of it and pasted it into my drawing which does what I need.

pendean, thanks for responding and thanks for the "CLASSICXREF" info, that is what I'm used to seeing.

Hi there!

I have the same issue in AutoCAD 2022. Bind option not showing.

If i use the suggested command "CLASSICXREF", there is no xref listed, despite there is 1.

Any ideas?

Is there one listed in the XREF pallet?

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Show us what you see exactly, since we all can BIND an xref using both commands

That's an image file. It won't show in the classic XREF dialog because it only does .dwgs.
