Newly Created pdfs Will Not Combine Nor Display Properties

I recently had cause to do a fresh install of AutoCAD 2026 and, after the install, any pdfs I have created will not combine into a single pdf in Acrobat 2017.  I can save into a portfolio, but that is unacceptable for permit submittals in any jurisdiction.  Acrobat has no issue combining any of my ACAD pdfs from before the fresh install.  Stranger still: the new pdfs won't display properties; the pop-up menu won't open!

So far, I have tried another clean install of 2026, along with a clean install of Acrobat 2017, after running full updates to Windows.  Never encountered any issues previously.

Same settings as always:

DWG To PDF.pc3

Stumped.

could you attach a couple of sample pdfs you generated from 2026 to see if community here can successfully combine?

I'm encountering same problems with the pdfs you posted. Though they open in Acrobat they do show an error box when attempting to combine or even insert:

Have you tried installing 2024 or 2025 to see if the same problems occur in those previous versions using Dwg To Pdf.pc3?

I haven't.  Good suggestion, I'll give that a shot.

BTW, Paul, will the properties dialog box open in Adobe, for you, on those pdfs?

@MARKRITTER7386 Known issue with 2026's PDF drivers and Acrobat.

Try a different PDF manufacturer tool or a different PDF program, or fire up AutoCAD 2025.

Hopefully this will get addressed in a future update for 2026.

Update:

Been sending dwg files for projects for a few weeks now, and only just revisited the issue.  I took out 2026 and reinstalled 2025 and a fresh Acrobat 2017.  Same result.

The solution, or, rather, workaround, was to select the Adobe PDF driver in Page Setup Manager, modify the settings and save it as Adobe PDF.pc.3.

All good, back up and submitting combined PDFs, but still confused!

If you ever get around to it, another test would be to uninstall both acrobat & autocad.

Reboot & then just install autocad.

Use one of the built-in pdf devices to generate several pdfs.

Then install acrobat.

Then go back to autocad and generate several pdfs again using built-in pdf device.

Now see if acrobat can successfully combine the first batch of pdfs vs 2nd bath of pdfs.
