newer mviews have rotated UCS

I'm a 2D user and don't fullly understand the UCS World world. When creating a new mview in paper space the model is rotated. In all of my older mviews the model is shown correctly. I must have changed something and I'm not sure how to fix it. I've attached a few screen shots to clarify the problem.

Thanks for helping a 3D challenged user.

In MODEL space, is your UCS and PLAN both set to WORLD or something else? MVIEW is simply defaulting to a setting you currently have there most likely.

Ensuring UCSFOLLOW is turned off may help as well.

I guess the model space is set to something else. If I type in ucs w the icon is pointing in the wrong direction. I've rotated the w icon by the grips but it still reverts back. How can I change the direction of the world view and make it stay?

Can you share your DWG file here? Delete any client-info first of course.

I deleted everything but the test.

Thanks for the DWG file: so these settings were deliberate and still required or accidental in nature? trying to establish what needs to stay

Notice in the one viewport the X/Y orientation (but not east/west) is deliberately different

and in the other it is different still

Yikes! Maybe too much whiskey in the Christmas eggnog?

I don't care which way the N S E W icon points. I never have that on. But I see that seems to be the problem.

I want the Y to be vertical and the X to be horizontal in model space and all view ports I create with the text as shown in the older mview in my examples. (I probably should not have include a North arrow in my example, that may be confusing.)
