New XREF paths are not saving in drawing file

I have nine .jpg files that I have xrefed into a drawing.  Four of the xrefs load properly.  Five say not found.  I can select a new path for the five and they load properly.  However, when I save, close out of the drawing and proceed to reopen, the issue remains.

The paths also won't go to absolute path.

Thanks!

We had the same issue years ago but only with network servers. The network software we had was the issue. We've gone full Microsoft since then and haven't had an issue since then.

Have you ever had the issue when your drawing and all references were on your local drive?

Thanks for taking the time tp reply.

This is my first time having this issue.  We use Onedrive for all of our files so right now the path is a synced onedrive folder.  Maybe that could be causing the issue?

You might want to use Process Monitor to watch file/registry activity, that may help determine why AutoCAD (via the O/S) can't find those files at the time of DWG load. Keep in mind AutoCAD just asks the O/S to go find a file, and the O/S either finds it, or not.

More info on that.

If I'm understanding, their solution was to keep the file on the device.  My file is already that way and I'm still having the issue.

Thanks for posting though.
