Multiple selection of items feature not works sometimes

In Autocad, we can select mutliple items without holding anyother key. Just by keep selecting items with the mouse is enough but sometimes/maybe with some files that feature isn't working, i had to hold SHIFT to select multiple items. What would be the possible solution or is there any command needs to be turned on?

Yes, this is the standard default setting in AutoCAD

Nothing to do with your files, you changing the setting - but how? I don't know.

[F1] - PICKADD

or OPTIONS,DISPLAY,  look at selection modes

I think you are inexperienced with the mouse and accidentally click it in the properties palette, in the top right corner.

Or you running poor written tools which use this setting.
