Multiple object selection and LT

Hello - new to the forums, long time AutoCAD user. Upgrading (finally) from R14 to 2017 for Mac. I've downloaded trials of AutoCAD 2017 for Mac and LT 2017 and am comparing. I don't do much 3D as of yet... but my question is limited to this: In LT, it seems I cannot select multiple objects (to rotate, copy, move, etc) by selecting them individually, as I can in the full version. This is important when I'm deep in a complex drawing and don't want to use a crossing window. This one issue will likely drive my decision to subscribe to the full version vs. LT, future 3D work notwithstanding. Am I correct in thinking I cannot do a multiple selection process like I've described in LT? Thanks.

Set the PICKADD variable to 1
