Multiple Monitors

Hello,

I have dual monitors attached to my laptop.  I never had issues until I tried to run AutoCAD 2022.  When I launch AutoCAD, the screens start flickering and the AutoCAD application jumps between monitors.   Every couple of minutes this action repeats itself.  This happens with Revit 2022 as well.

I have searched through various multiple monitor posts, and have not come across any solution that works.

Any assistance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cathy

Laptop make/model is...?
The two monitors are connected how to the laptop?

Have you installed the 2022.1.2 Update yet? ABOUT command will confirm what you have installed. If not, get it from your Autodesk Account Page here https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/updates
Restart your PC afterwards.

If that did not help... Set GFXDX12 variable to 0 (that's a zero) then restart AutoCAD2022: reverting to DirectX11 fixes similar problems for most users.

Also consider turning off LINESMOOTHING and LINEFADING variables: if still no relief then start GRAPHICSCONFIG command and change the 2D Display Settings pulldown from "advanced mode" to one of the other choices.

If all else fails, then turn off Hardware Acceleration as a last resort, does that help? If yes then start a support ticket through your subscription portal as explained here https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/users-software/support-options#:~....

The Laptop is Lenovo P15s.  The monitors are connected via a ThinkPad Universal USB-C Smart Dock.

AutoCAD 2022 is up to date, but I did change the GFXDX12 value to "0".

The issue does not start until the program has been running for an hour or so.  At the moment my hardware acceleration is on, but I will try your other suggestions if the monitors start flashing.

Thank you for your response.

That would appear to be a hardware issue then, overheating? There is no AutoCAD fix for that, sorry.

That is what I was thinking as well.

Thanks again!

I have had issues using a USB C breakout box after the computer's screen saver/idle time setting come on. Is the station in continual use prior to the display issues starting?

Yes, the computer is in continual use prior to the display flashing, but a lot of the work is done on web applications.  I presume that doesn't change when the computer goes into idle mode.

Its when I launch applications like AutoCAD or Revit, it will start to fault after a short period of time.

I am leaning toward hardware/driver issues.
