Multiple Line Types on a single layer

Multiple Line Types on a single layer

Is it possible to have multiple line types on a single layer?

We have a situation where we want to be able to exaggerate a range of line types in paperspace but keep the original lines in model space. The lines in model space are on their own layers but we want to have a single exaggerated layer but the issue is that these lines can be different types i.e. solid, dashed, thickness, etc

There can only be one linetype assigned to a layer, but you can apply manual overrides to any and all objects in that layer anyway you want using PROPERTIES command.

If all the lines in model space that you want to show differently in paper space are on their own layers, you can change how those linetypes are shown in the viewport using the "VP Linetype" column in the Layer Properties Manager. The linetypes in model space don't change, just how they are seen through the viewport.

Thanks for the ideas. We will look into the Properties option to see what we can develop.

I recommend that you use the CHPROP command instead, because in it, as long as it's one defined in AutoCAD's linetype definition file, it is not necessary for the linetype you want to assign to be already loaded in the drawing, as it is if you want to assign it in the Properties palette.
