Multiline Attributes Revert Back To Single Line

I use multiline attributes a lot, hower one thing that has bothered me for a long time when working with multiline attributes is that they revert back to single line for some unknown reasons.  I have tried many things but nothing seems to be a permanent solution.  Right now when changing a multiline attribute, I first get the MText object change the contents and then assign back the MText to the MTextAttribute object.  For most parts it works fine.  However under some conditions some of the multiline attributes on a drawing revert back to single line or the attributes' TAG get renamed with a prefix like _001.  How this happens is a mystery to me.  If I could get an answer I will be very happy.

Hi,

Can you explain the steps you take to change a multiline attribute?  Are you dbl-clicking on a block that has a multi-line attribute, and editing the attribute in the Enhanced Attribute Editor?   Or are you editing a block definition that has the attribute in the Block editor?  I don't understand what you mean by "I first get the MText object change the contents and then assign back the MText to the MTextAttribute object."  Thanks!

Sorry, I was not clear.  I am editing the attributes through automation using the .Net API.  When the program runs it selects the attributes and populates them with information (data from a database).  No manual editing.

Hi,

Thanks for the clarification. I wonder if that could be the cause. I will check in our database to see if there is anything logged on this.
