Multi-Player drafting

I want the ability to have more than one person draw in the same model space at the same time. I don't want "read only" files to open when I open something that the next cubical already opened. I want to be able to see their cursor and what they're drawing in a LIVE viewing. I want to add to their line work at the same time as they add to mine. I don't want to have to update my rented paper space like Revit does. I want AutoCAD to feel like an online multiplayer game where we can collaborate in real time.

this would make teaching significantly more effective, and exponentially make projects drawn with full efficiency. I want more than one mind in the same drawing with real time reactions.

I know it's not right now. I want Autodesk to see this so that the next version has this. It would change AutoCAD forever.

Well, for starters, the next version of AutoCAD, despite being 10 months away, is not going to include such as drastic change to the platform.  Secondly, we the user base have been asking for this for ~25 years, and it's never come close to happening yet, so don't get your hopes up. Thirdly, this is not the place for AutoCAD Wishes - nobody that has any power to make such changes is reading this user support forum.

There is no "AutoCAD Ideas" forum here (like there are for other products), presumably because they don't want or need anyone's input.  Augi does have a wish list, but it's largely just a facade. Meaning that yes, items on this wishlist are fulfilled every year, but probably because those ideas are already in the pipeline, and not as a direct result of being on this wishlist.

Now, having said all that, the ODA announced in 2018 that they were exploring multi user  editing of DWG files, without file locking. You can read more about that, about 1/3 of the way down on this page. Not sure of the current status of that project.

if there isn't "the place for AutoCAD wishes", then why did the link under "Contact us> we'd love to hear from you>product feedback or idea > suggest a new feature or improvement for a product" send me here?

Are you telling me that Autodesk doesn't care about their user base? FOR SHAME, Nay-sayer!
They'll see it...eventually...

Sloppy understaffed clueless marketing department: why don't you join them and fix it?

FWIW Autodesk looks for feedback right here these days https://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback

@seanclarkTPCFA  - what @pendean said.

I posted a legitimate reply trying to help you. If you don't like the answer, don't blame the messenger. I've been working with Autodesk products for 28+ years, and I think I have a good sense of how things operate with them. Posting in the user support forums about wishes in the products, especially AutoCAD, will get you the same result as walking outside on your street corner and yelling out those wishes to the world.

As I said other products such as Civil 3D and Revit DO have a forum where they ask for ideas, but the AutoCAD team does not. Good luck.

AutoCAD multiplayer would go so hard, imagine running duos and you team up on filling up the grid.
