MTEXT won't de-select when I click off of it, stays selected when I'm done editing

I recently had to reset my defaults, because CAD hates me. Prior to this event, when I was done typing, or editing multiline text, I would just click off of the text box and my changes would be accepted. Now, when I click off of the text box, the text remains selected and I need to hit Esc to de-select it. Not the end of the world, I know, but I'm set in my old ways. Does anybody know how to get my old setting back?

Thanks;

Scott

@Anonymous -  When you say "remains selected" do you mean that the grips on the mtext object show (just like when you first select it) -or- that the mtext grips do not show, BUT that the cursor is still in select mode and a ESC is required to get the crosshairs back?

Hi, thanks for the reply. When I click outside of the text box, the text box disappears, but the text that I was editing still has the blue grips on it and is still "active".  I need to hit Esc to de-select it and then go about my business.  It doesn't do this with other objects, or single line text.

Interesting, I'm trying to recreate that by adjusting various settings and no luck so far.

If you go to OPTIONS, and switch to a different profile (creating a new one if needed), does it still act the same in the other, different profile?

I switched from  the C3D_Imperial profile to the AutoCAD profile and that seemed to work!  Will switching profiles like this affect anything else?

Thanks!

Oh , you're using Civil 3D. I saw this in the AutoCAD forum, so I presumed you were using plain vanilla AutoCAD. Let me test on Civil 3D.

I am using AutoCAD vanilla version and recently face the same problem.

But notice that if I move my curser much further away and click any blank area, it will deselect the MTEXT as usual. So seems that the MTEXT imaginary box is much larger then the text.
