Mtext shows up extremely large when downloaded from external file

Hello all,

I am new to AutoCAD and I am currently in my first online class.

I am having issues with a file I am trying to download from my class forum that contains legends needed for my plan set. Every time I download the file the text appears larger than the professor's example.  However, no one else in my class seems to be having this issue. He took a look at my file and said it might be a system issue on my computer but I wanted to ask if anyone else might have an idea of what the problem could be.

The first photo is what the legends should look like and the second photo is how it should up on my computer when I download the file.

I have also attached the file itself.

Thank you in advance.

Hello @reade_paredes_929

There has been an issue with text using True type Font(TTF) on AutoCAD 2025. This issue has been fixed in the update 2025.1. Please update AutoCAD 2025 with 2025.1 update to fix this issue.

You can download the update from here: https://manage.autodesk.com/products/updates

Hope that helps 🙂

Thank you for the quick response @vinodkl ! So, I was able to find the AutoCAD 2025 Version through your link, however when I tried downloading it, a window popped up saying I already had this version installed. When opened it, the AutoCAD 2025 Version I am having issues with, opened. Should I uninstall the 2025 Version?

Hello @reade_paredes_929

Can you please type in the command "ABOUT" in AutoCAD and share the screenshot to see if you have the latest update installed?

You need to download the update 2025.1. Please find the image for reference.

It says I have Autocad2025.1 installed but it does not open. My icon says 2025 but should it say 2025.1 on my icon?

Hello @reade_paredes_929

The 2025.1 is just an update over the 2025 version. The icon will show only 2025. I assume you already have the 2025.1 update installed. Just to confirm after opening the AutoCAD 2025, open a blank drawing and type in the command "ABOUT" and check if the 2025.1 is installed. Please find the image for reference.

even after the update the same issue persists, then type in the command "_.3DCONFIG" and change the "2D display settings" to "Intermediate mode" and see if it helps.

Here you go. Looks like I have the update, but the issue is still occurring... I changed the 2D setting to intermediate mode and the text is still showing up as enlarged.

Does this look right to you? In unchecked the accelerated font display box... I think it may have fixed the issue.

Hello @reade_paredes_929

Thanks for sharing the screenshot. I assume you have changed the annotation scale, so the text is enlarged.  Set the annotation back to 3/16"=1'0".
