Moving entire drawing to 0,0

Hello,

Is there a safe way to move the whole drawing (with dimensions) to 0,0? I'm editing not mine drawing and all the storeys had been drawn in different location, what makes it sad when using xrefs.

Regards,

Magdalena

Hi,

Yes you can do that after :

  • All layers are ON  , Not locked and thawed .

type MOVE command then when asked for select objects type All now select a base point then enter 0,0 for the other new second point location .

Command: MOVE

Select objects: all 1 found

Select objects:
Specify base point or [Displacement] <Displacement>:
Specify second point or <use first point as displacement>: 0,0

Hi,

in this case "move to 0,0" is not the prefered way

Prefered way: DWG Creater have to correct his work, set up DWG content for a normal usual workflow for all users.

(@ other readers: I never prefer NOT talk about the edit of the dwg basepoint in public)

But if the project is finished, so you know to 100% that there you get never newer data (file versions) in the future.. from this creator) - do it.

What do you mean with "sure"?

Modelspace, UNLOCK und THAW all layers,

MOVE

ALL

<select the reference point you have>

*0,0,0

Done.

Thank you.

I hope there is a way to do so, without unfreezing all the layers. There's a whole history of layers of previous revisions and it would be quite a task to freeze them back after moving the drawing.

Is there an automatized way to go back to the state from before unfreezing?

Thank you for all your help.

I must admit I didn't know LATERSTATE. Thank you a lot, it will fasten my workflow.
