Mleader text rotates to north during editing...randomly

Hello,

My coworker and I are working with mleaders that are rotated.  The UCS is set to world.  We are working in AutoCAD 2022.

When she is in the drawing and edits the mleader, the text display rotates (north) in the text editor and then returns to the desired location once editing is complete.  This happens if she double-clicks to open the editor or if she uses the command line.  But it doesn't happen all the time.  Additionally it doesn't seem to be happening when editing mtext

When I go into the same drawing and edit in the same way, by double-clicking or otherwise, it does not rotate during editing.

I feel that I can eliminate causes that have to do with any settings regarding the font, mleader style settings, properties, etc. since her and I are working with the same dwg file.

It makes me think that it has to do with individual system variables.  So we have tried changing editor settings on her machine with no success.

We have searched the online forums and there were others that have had a similar experience but haven't found a solution.  Could it be a glitch?  It is rather random.

Can anyone think of anything that could be causing this?

Thank you

What command(s) is the other user using? And you? Find out, don't assume abbreviations (or double-click settings in CUI) are launching the same tools perhaps.

Which one of you has an add-on the other does not?

If you truly need UCS set to WORLD, then ensure PLAN command is also set to WORLD too, perhaps that's the fix you need.

Are you both using the exact same variant and version of AutoCAD? Share ABOUT command screenshots from inside both programs if you are unsure and confirm both Operating Systems versions.

Thanks for responding. They were really good suggestions. We checked the product version and it is the same. The double click settings in the CUI are the same and neither of us are using aliases for this command at the command line.

Setting the PLAN view to world is not helpful as we need the view to be rotated for this particular project.

I really appreciate your input.

Thank you for your help.

We also came across this post and adjusted the settings.  Changing the MTEXTFIXED setting did not work.  We tried changing the MTEXTED to OldEditor but she lost some functionality that the MTEXT editor provides.  More importantly, it didn't explain why mine is behaving correctly and hers is not.

Thanks again.

Hi,

doublecheck and compare the MTextfixed setting

and for comparingtests, use the same file, and the same view and zoomlevel on both systems.

This way we don't need to ask about annotation settings, style fonts and more.

Thank you for the tips. The problem my coworker is having is in the exact same dwg that I am using, and I don't have a problem. We resisted the urge to make a copy so we have been taking turns opening it on our respective machines for testing.

For a test. Set monitor resolution to fullhd and all dpi scaling 100%

Still differently?

@DawnAW Oh well. How "randomly" is this occurrence?

If all fails you could always just RESET that AutoCAD seat back to defaults.

Thanks for the reply.  I gave it a try but had no success.

I say randomly because it is only in certain files and when I open the file it never happens.  My coworker always has it happen in these particular files.  And we are finding that another coworker only sometimes has it happen.

That's too random to diagnose here (just like you discovered over there): if only "particular" files consider sharing one where this happens often here for some else to explore.

Note: here is how to open a support case with Autodesk if you are on subscription to seek out Autodesk Support's help, they'll want to remote into that problem PC (and others maybe) to dig deeper:
