Hi @Anonymous,

I assume you are trying to model this in 3D. If you draw your closed profile and then sweep it along the radius then you will likely have to slice it with a miter in order to get it to return properly. Are you having problems wit the slice?

I'm trying to make a 3d model of the above elevation and section. I've got the base piece modeled out but the upper radius corners are not lining up properly.

Yes, John, I can't quite figure out the trick to getting that miter/slice correct on the corners.

Providing I understand the problem:

If you sweep the upper profile longer than it needs to be and then draw an outline of the front view and extrude that to solid. Then you should just be able to intersect the two. See attached images. An angular mess but it shows the general idea.

Draw 45 degrees lines and use them to SLICE, or use UCS plane.

Deusextechnic, do you have a closeup of the corners on your drawing?

Patchy, this is the area I'm having trouble with, I was able to make the base piece that you drew.

Treat that "S" as half an "S", such as a c, then mirror. Keep the angle consistent.

Curves like that can be completed faster in Autodesk Inventor, but is possible in AutoCAD. It's more like trying to figure out a puzzle in AutoCAD Smiley Indifferent

I was able to slice it with the profile edge after a little tweaking. Thanks for the all the suggestions
