2018 Macbook pro running Catalina 10.15.7 and Autocad LT for Mac 2022
Taking over a drawing set for a client. They are using a font family for the set that I did not have installed on my computer (Source Sans Pro). There are 4 different fonts in use from this family. All are TTF fonts.
Source Sans Pro
Source Sans Pro Light
Source Sans Pro Black
Source Sans Pro SemiBold
Obviously not having the fonts installed, everything was defaulting to the standard font, so I downloaded and installed the fonts. Now Source Sans Pro shows up after restarting the computer, but the rest are still missing (Screenshot below). I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the rest to be recognized. I can now use them in all other software, just not Autocad. Thanks in advance!
Would you mind uploading the faulty fonts to replicate the issue?
Assuming that the complete family is Version 2.045, have you tried any previous release?
You can download versions 2.040, 2.020, 2.010 and 1050 here: https://github.com/adobe-fonts/source-sans/releases
How about installing OTF fonts instead of TTF?
Keep in mind that TrueType fonts, and OpenType fonts that use TrueType outlines (not PostScript outlines) can be used in AutoCAD.
To determine whether an OpenType font contains PostScript or TrueType outlines, view the font file within the operating system.
Finally, there's a dedicated AutoCAD for Mac Forum here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-for-mac/ct-p/4051
@fatal.error Thank you for the response.
I tried some earlier versions and I got excited because I noticed some use PostScript outlines and some use TrueType outlines, but I'm still having the same issue regardless- though some weird things are happening with some versions where type assigned Source Sans Pro is showing visually as Source Sans Pro Black, and Source Sans Pro Black + others are still missing, so that's new. Seems to just take on the style of the first font in the family I upload and ignore the rest.
Same problem with OTF vs TTF, no luck. Zip file of the fonts, current and old version attached, sorry but it won't let me upload them uncompressed because of file type restrictions.
Thank you for pointing out the dedicated forum, apologies and I'll move it over there if this doesn't fix it!
Unfortunately, I've similar issues on Mac, but works flawlessly on Windows.
I’ve also tried Source Sans 3 without success.
