Missing external reference tab

I go to the insert tab and try to select the external references but the tab never appears how do I turn the external reference tab back on ?

Is the external reference palette what you want to see? (as seen in my screenshot)

Where exactly are you trying to click to show this? Can you post a screenshot? What happens if you type the command EXTERNALREFERENCES ?

Use command _EXTERNALREFERENCES

I type in externalreference and nothing happens. it's the external reference pallet that I'm trying to restore so I can see my reference files to bind them

NOT externalreference I said _externalreferences, you need the _ and the s at the end
