Missing dotfont

Recently downloaded autocad 2024.  Dot font is not showing up.  I had it in 2018.  please help

DOT.shx or DOTFONT.SHX? It/they are still in your 2018 installation: not a stock font from Autodesk.

You can most likely find copies on the web too, help yourself

The dot font is not native to AutoCAD.  You must have made it or obtained it from someone else.  There are two places that AutoCAD pulls fonts from:

• C:\program files\autodesk\autocad 2024\fonts
• C:\Windows\fonts

If you have access to a computer with this customized font then you can grab it from there and copy it to the AutoCAD folder above.  

Be advised, just because you place it on your system does not mean everyone you send the file out to will see the font the same on theirs.  You will have to send them the font so they can place on their system as well.

If you still have 2018 loaded, you should be able to locate that file and then copy that to support path location for 2024

Look for .SHX or .TTF file types.

I'm having trouble finding the dotfont.  i can see dotfont but its in PDF form

Share a dwg here that has Text using that font

The only type of files AutoCAD reads for fonts are .shx and .ttf.  Most of the .shx fonts will reside in the C:\program files\autodesk\autocad 2024\fonts folder.  

Most .ttf fonts reside in the C:\Windows\fonts folder.  

Do you still have on this computer?  If so then you need to look in the autocad 2018 folder.

Because it does not exist in your new software.

I provided you with a link to download that font from the web, use that one or ask your IT folks to get it for you.
