Greetings! I am new to the AutoCAD community. One division of my company is fabricating countertops out of pre-purchased slabs in 3 different lengths and multiple styles. I am needing to Nest multiple sizes of parts, drawing from mulitple sizes of the same material, and I need the software to tell me how many of the various sizes I will need to use. For example: I need to cut 28 random length parts, all measuring more than 30" in length, and I need to know the best yield utilizing 8', 10' and 12' slabs (i.e.: (2) 8' slabs; (3) 10' slabs; (3) 12' slabs. I also need to be able to set up a database of materials with these sizes in hundreds of colors. I need to be able to output shop drawings, pricing, quotes, etc. This is just an overview of the fundamental needs. Is AutoCAD the right program for this, or does AutoDesk have another program that is well suited for my manufacturing operation? Can anyone give me some direction? Thanks in advance.
