Lost Arial Narrow fonts when plotting to PDF

I am using Autocad 15 with Windows 10 operating system. I have a recently installed subscription to Adobe Acrobat DC on my home desktop.  Standard office practice for years has been to print CAD files to PDF using 'DWG to PDF.pc3' as the printer/plotter.  We have also for years successfully used Adobe Acrobat to combine the individual PDF drawing pages into sets, and then to reduce the size of the combined files to something manageable. Never had an issue until now.  I am able still to print the individual drawing sheets and combine the PDFs, and have our standard Arial Narrow family of fonts remain intact.  But once I reduce the size of the combined sets, all Arial Narrow Bold, Italic and Bold Italic fonts are lost, replaced by an inappropriate serif font (plain Arial Narrow remains intact.)  The message that I get at the end of the compression process is that Acrobat cannot find or create certain fonts.  I have verified that the whole font family exists in my Windows font folder. Yes, I realize that this reads like an Adobe problem, but I suspect that it is a glitch in the interface between Autocad and Acrobat.  The Adobe support people have spent hours in my computer and escalated the issue several times, and have concluded that Acrobat is working properly.  I'm at wit's end. Using a different font is not an option, as it is not my call. My question to the community: has anyone out there had a similar experience, and found a solution or at least a  workaround?

Why would very old 2015 AutoCAD be the problem if you installed the latest newest Adobe software? Curious 😉

What does "..But once I reduce the size of the combined sets..." mean to everyone way over here who can't see what you are doing or trying to do? Do you mean PDF Compression?

It sound like you may have lost track of how you set your PDF driver for font handling when creating the PDFs with that PDF driver perhaps. What settings do you have?

Adobe has user forums just like these, why not give them a try while you take the time to answer the questions above. Here is the link https://community.adobe.com/
