Loft modeling error

Hello,

I'm new to AutoCAD and I'm trying to design a rollator for a little uni project and teach myself some basics at the same time. Right now I'm stuck with a problem when using the loft command. I converted some lines and splines to a polyline and centered 3 different ovals on the Polyline (start-inside of a bend-end). I'm able to connect the 3 ovals with the loft command but as soon as I try to select a path modeling error /Error code number is 114023 appears. I made sure the polyline is fully connected and the ovals are centered correctly but the loft command still won't work. I even had success with a slightly more curved spline with a very similar shape but the path I want to use just won't work.

I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance.

Lofting can be finicky as you have discovered especially for anything shape except the gentlest of curves.  For your geometry I suggest not using a path or guide but create a few more sections and position them at the beginning of the bend and one or two mid span along the straight sections.   Be careful not to create a self-intersecting condition where the radius of the bend is less than the half the cross section distance.

If the cross section is a simple linear scaling from one end to halfway through the bend you can use sweep and scale the section on a path that end mid bend then another sweep for the other half.  I also recommend working with polylines that have arc rather than multiple straight segments for the bend or use a spline.

Thank you for the reply.

Yeah I kinda worried that the radius was the problem. I'm gonna redesign the thing with your tips in mind.
