Linking Multiple OLE in Drawings

I am currently using an excel OLE to populate the bill of material table in my drawing. I was thinking of making mutliple drawings and having the one excel sheet calculate the cumulative parts. Is there a way for me to link the excel sheets together? Here is a screen shoot. "a" is the excel sheet and "b" is how it populates the bill of material table. I tried paste special ->paste -> ts for multiple OLE tables but I noticed if I input values in one table and exit, the other tables will not have the populated values.

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I suggest doing all of this in Excel so you end up with only one table to bring into AutoCAD.  If you need help in doing this in Excel, I can try to show you how to do it. Can you share a couple spreadsheets for me to examine?

That's a good idea. If the AutoCad drawing and the Excel sheet is meant to be used as a template, and both are linked to each other, wouldn't the excel sheet be written over every time a person uses the template? Or does it create a new temporary file? This is an example of what I am working on.

Help me to understand this a bit better. Are you running a data extraction on each drawing file and then putting that into a spreadsheet? Then you OLE the spreadsheet back into AutoCAD?

If this is the case, run the data extraction all the files at the same time and the data will end up in a single spreadsheet.

If not, please help me with a bit more detail. Initially thought you were trying to combine spreadsheets and put the result into AutoCAD.
