Line scale setting for a layer

Is it possible to set a scale for the line of the layer? For example my line is a dashed line in a layer but i want the dashes to appear less frequently (wider gap in between)

If not, what is your recommendation? Set the line properties on a case by case basis? But is this not inefficient?

It's best to try not to use overrides if possible. The more you use the more confusing the drawing will be later. Best solution is to make a new line type that appears the way you need it and use that as the layer linetype. It's a little more work but once you make a few with different size dashes and spaces, you already have them made for when you need something a little different.

No. And as noted, sty away from such overrides that will make coming back to your file later (or by others) a nightmare.

In case you never noticed...

DASHED comes in three sizes: DASHED2, DASHED and DASHEDX2.

if you cannot find the spacing that works bet for your needs, try HIDDEN or HIDDEN2 or HIDDENX2 linetypes instead.

OR... make your own "dashed" linetype if one of the 6 built in dashed-line like linetypes do not meet your exact needs.

And how can i make a new linetype? And how can i call it again when I need?

If "wider gap in between" means you also  want the dashes correspondingly longer, then the HIDDEN/DASHED families of linetypes offer those 6 choices mentioned, although it's really only 4, because DASHED2 is identical to HIDDEN, and HIDDENX2 is identical to DASHED.

But if you'd like [or don't mind ] having the ratio between dash and gap different, i.e. wider gaps but not  longer dashes between them, there's a seventh  one, called EVENDASH.  But it doesn't offer the ...2 or ...X2 choices that the others do.

They're in the standard list -- LINETYPE command, LOAD button, you'll find them.

Making your own is quite easy for something as simple as dashes and gaps.  >Help< is your friend -- you can simply change the numbers representing the dash and gap lengths.
