Learning Hatch pattern Confuse

Hi All

 

i am Learning to create custom hatch pattern. and i try to understand AutoCAD hatch pattern but i don't understand these 2 hatch 

 

as i Understand Hatch pattern is  (Angle , OrgX, OrgY, DeltaX, DeltaY, +00(Line) 0(dot) and -000 (is Gap);

 

so in the Angle Hatch pattern there is no DeltaX in the second 90 deg line. how it create  Line in the x offset?

 

*ANGLE, Angle steel

0, 0,0, 0,.275, .2,-.075

90, 0,0, 0,.275, .2,-.075

 

And Second is

Rename of Solid "this does not work as AutoCAD solid hatch.. Why?

*ReSolid, ReSolid 

45, 0,0, 0,.125

The first one is because of something that's often confusing -- while the X and Y coordinates of the origin point for a lineset [in this case the 0,0 entries in both linesets] is in relation to "World" orientation, the X and Y offsets [in this case the 0,.275 entries in both linesets] are in relation to the angle at the beginning of the definition line, and not to the "World" orientation.  So for a 90-degree lineset, "X" is upward [in that 90-degree direction] rather than to the right, and in relation to that orientation, there is no X offset for that lineset.

 

As to the second one, I believe the SOLID definition is a kind of "stand-in," and AutoCAD really does it differently somehow based on the SOLID name specifically, so giving that same definition line a different name will give you the "literal" result of that definition.  But I do have to ask: why would you want to use a SOLID pattern under a different name?

so for the first one.. if angle rotate, it mean Delta X and Delta Y also Rotate.

 

like 45, 0,0,   0.5,0.5,   0.5,-0.5

 

so when it draw it will rotate Delta X and Delta Y from the 0,0 . is that correct? is is apply to all hatch pattern? or just in some case. 

 

because i check and i did not get .1767766 in any dimension in this hatch. is am i missing any thing  or  am i  not understanding some thing.

oh..... i see..

 

so it mean that delta x and delta y also rotate as per angle....

I will try to explain to you what is happening in a hatch pattern.

 

angle, x-origin,y-origin, delta-x,delta-y, dash-1,dash-2, …


angle, - Specifies the angle in which the line segment should be drawn based on the current UCS; think of this as rotating the UCS around the specified origin and that the line segment is always drawn along the X-axis

x-origin,y-origin, - Specifies the point origin in which the line segment should be started from

delta-x,delta-y, - Specifies an offset from the origin

dash-1,dash-2, - Specifies the dash gap sequence in which the line segment should be drawn
