Leader arrow won't move when repositioning note

Leader created using QLEADER.  Moving the leader will move everything but the arrowhead.  It seems to be locked in place.  Even moving the entire drawing has no effect.  Solutions?

I can't duplicate what you describe.  Could you post an example DWG?

Hi,

Try to do :

- Disable Hardware acceleration.

- Download latest Service pack & Hotfixes.

No sir.  The command isn't completed yet.  If it were exploded the arrow would move.  The arrow seems to be locked into that spot and cannot move.  I've moved all of the associated geometry and still nothing.

I think I may reload the software.  This is something I've never seen before.

Help is appreciated, but I'm in the process of reloading the software. My schedule doesn't allow me much time to troubleshoot problems that can be fixed with a fresh install and setting import. If it continues after the install I'll do as asked.

Thanks,

Your leader arrow is defined on a layer you have locked most likely: is layer 0 (zero) turned on/thawed/unlocked?

Hi @Anonymous,

I believe there is something corrupt in your drawing that is causing this behavior. I can move the leader line and the Dot remains in its original position. Then I run Audit and the Dot moves to the new location.

Hi, @john.vellek,

I tried running an audit but the problem remains the same. I agree with you. there might be a corrupt in the file. Thank you very much anyway.

Thanks,

Wait, you have just enough time to ask for help but you don't have time to help those that want to help you? Good luck!

Doing a fresh install is a waste of time unless you are completely at a loss. You have not learned anything by doing that and won't know how to fix or prevent it from happening again. It is probably a simple fix that will save you time in the future because you won't have to lose production time when you are doing the fresh install.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Five years later, posting a fix because I just ran into this same problem.

My fix: type SHADMODE at the command line, then 2. It was set to wireframe accidentally.

The error happens on leaders that use a custom block for the arrowhead. Leaders with built-in arrowheads work fine. This error and fix worked in AutoCAD 2021.

I had the same problem and that solution with changing the shademode solved the issue. Thank you very much for your help.

7-1/2 years later, thank you David Robison.  I've had this issue for years, SHADEMODE fixed it.  With so many miniscule drawing functions it's extremely frustrating not knowing these arbitrary settings.
