Large Touch Screen Monitor Suggestions

I want some suggestions on Large Touch Screen (PC) monitors that will work well with Autodesk AutoCAD.

Anyone who currently uses such a configuration would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I don't have any experience with Touch Screens but since no one else has yet replied to your question, Here I am!

I suggest that you check out some of the review sites on the web to isolate a few models that appear to fit your needs.  Then perhaps query in the Community again to see if anyone has specific experience on those models.

It would also be a good idea to test the applications on one (purchase and return if not suitable). If you are a teacher then you can check for free software in the Autodesk Educational Community or you can get free 30-day trials here.

Not sure how much extra functionality a regular touch screen monitor will ad to autocad. You might be better off with a wacom tablet if that's the kind of functionality you are going for. Like a intuos brand or a cintiq brand. Intuos has no screen and uses your current monitors screen and cintiq has a screen that you draw right on. People seem to like the intuos better for cad but that might be because they are WAY cheaper. I keep thinking of trying one out but haven't got around to it yet. I like gadgets. 😃

Also from everything I've read people that get large screen models of the wacoms I'm talking about don't like them. It's too much arm movement. People seem to end up returning them and getting the medium or even small versions.

May I ask why? How often do you reach over your keyboard to touch screens in a day that this would be a benefit for drafting in this software?

I agree with @gotphish001 if you are looking for more functionality replacing your mouse with a Wacom tablet would be the way to go for a desktop (not mobile) setup.
