Hi all,
I am looking at buying a laptop that is capable of running AutoCAD electircal 2014.
I will also need it to run another programme, which is Autodesk 3DS Max. I plan on doing some 3D Modelling on it, mostly for my uni work and I will also play some games on it.
The laptop I'm currently looking at getting is as follows:
Chassis & Display
SkyFire: 14" Matte Full HD LED Widescreen (1920x1080)
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-4710MQ (2.50GHz) 6MB
Memory (RAM)
8GB KINGSTON SODIMM DDR3 1600MHz (1 x 8GB)
Graphics Card
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 850M - 2.0GB DDR5 Video RAM - DirectX® 11
Memory - Hard Disk
500GB SERIAL ATA II 2.5" HARD DRIVE WITH 8MB CACHE (5,400rpm)
I am also thinking of adding an SSD but my budget is really around £700 and this build is already out of that with a cost of £752.
Would this build be ok? Or would it be better if I got a desktop PC even though the portability of the Laptop is preferred.
Thanks for any advice.
system requirements for Acad Elec 2014;
Anything less than that you are asking for slow performance.
You will also want to compare system requirements for 3DS Max. Do a google search for "Autodesk 3DS Max <version> system requirements" (replacing <version> with the correct version you have)
Use both of those system requirements as a basis to find the right/best/most affordable system you can buy.
