Keyboard shortcuts have changed

randomly my keyboard shortcuts have changed. Having used M for move for 20+ years, that's now Mirror and to move it's V. There are numerous other examples. I haven't amended any files knowingly and I've googled to death and can't track down a solution. Any ideas? TIA

Restart  your PC (or as first try: Close ALL programs)

Start AutoCAD, still an issue? even after PC restart?

Either you have multiple acad.pgp files in your search paths or you have a lisp routine that loads in some cases but not always.

Look at you search paths. Do you have different paths per project? Look for and "acad.pgp " and see if you have more than one.

Sorry, but was that a YES or NO ?

I interpret it as yes
even if AutoCAD is started as the only program immediately after starting the PC, the problem persists.

That's right?

Take a look into your pgp file.

how to ->

Is it the right language?

SEARCH for all instance of "M,"

Can you find mire than one line, starting with: M,

?

Did/does someone else use your computer and AutoCAD? M going from MOVE to MIRROR is a deliberate act, no accident, V now MOVE is also a very deliberate action. Nothing like that just happens.
Sort of like your car getting smashed/wrecked, it doesn't just happen on it's own sitting inside your cozy garage being fine for 20years.

What recently changed with your PC? or AutoCAD? Something did.
What year version of AutoCAD are you running? Did that change or get an update, or an add-on? O worse, id you remove an add-on? Something changed.
Your Windows OS is...?

You can always backup your customizations and reset AutoCAD, start over from scratch too. But that is drastic, unless you are willing to dig deeper.

I work in a huge company where only the IT team can amend anything. They did an update in Archibus Smart Client which is when things changed. I have followed your guide and in the pgp it shows M=MOVE so it maybe that there is a clashing PGP in Smart Client changing things from your description. I'll see if they can search and move/remove one as I don't have authorised systems access. Thanks!

That's that thing you forgot to mention in your first post... got it. Archibus User Support is also way over there for your possibly ongoing changes issues and other related items https://archibus.com/user-groups/

😂 Those of us who have been trapped in corporate IT environments always have to make sure we have crossed our T's and dotted our I's, so we can get IT in and tell them the exact steps to rectify the problem. 😉

I certainly don't miss that from the hospital I worked at. None of them knew anything about AutoCAD or Revit or any of our IWMS software, or plotters, etc.

I am curious about the impact the SmartClient might make, though. I thought I was on the current version, but my M shortcut is still behaving as it always has.

What AutoCAD release are you on @Laura_Morgan ?

Maybe I found why I'm not seeing this? the FAQs (only available to business partners, unfortunately, sorry) has this bug listed under release 19, and I'm on 2023.

At any rate the solution already posted is enough to get you there, edit the shortcuts in x86)\ARCHIBUS\xx.x\SmartClient\acad\acad.pgp because it will override the default, while the plugin is enabled.

I'm on AutoCAD 2023. I deleted the SmartClient PGP file and the normal AutoCAD shortcuts resumed! Kudos to the helpful folks on this forum as my IT team had no clue where to start with this. Thanks for reaching out!

Way back in the day, I edited my pgp file to have numerous shortcuts and several covered multiple commands.  Can you tell me how to add ZE to give me *ZOOM and then E for Extents?  I stopped tracking my pgp edits with 2003 since we transitioned to Revit way back then.

Instead of .pgp that you can't make zoom extent, use can use autolisp to do it.

I dont believe i have ever gone that route. How do I get in there with the newer versions?  I know there used to be a .lsp file.
