Hey guys,

Staying late to get a very simple drawing finished so I can send it and go home for an early morning audit tomorrow.

I'm basically copying and pasting symbols from Excel to ACAD.  My problem seems to be that some of the symbols don't want to move into ACAD as they are, they want to pull their entire Excel cell in with them.  And in a few cases, they've looked fine on the screen, even in the print preview, but when they print, those with a cell with the regular white background, now have a black background...

Help...?   Pretty please...?

Thanks,

Mark

I guess my question is how do I do this successfully, and quickly, when half the time I select the image, right click to copy, and my only options are "Move here, Copy here".

It's not a whole, full size picture, they're just thumbnails for a layout with pictorial legend.

I have never done what youve asked so just taking a punt.

but what happens if you make your cells printing black 255,255,255 ? (you might not see anything lol)

Hi,

Please look to that short video ... when I copy a symbol (what I understand as symbol in Excel) into AutoCAD, I get a OLE object in AutoCAD. And that is handled as all OLE-objects are. I do not get anything from Excel presented (no cells at all).

What am I doing differently?

Good morning (afternoon?) Alfred,

Thankyou for the short video, it looks amazingly clear and simple.  One small thing, which, I think is what my problem is, when you right-click to show the menu to copy the item, I don't get that menu (sometimes yes, sometimes no), the menu I see says

Move here

Copy here

Cancel

All the ones that showed the way your video shows, are all in place, it's the ones that don't/didn't show, still remain.  I have a little breathing room now, so I can check this out and correct myself without a deadline pressure, and no red eyes...

Thanks again, Alfred,

Mark

Please make a screenshot from that options + upload the drawing (so I can look into that object + let us know your version of AutoCAD (and service pack).
