jogline

Hi,

The jogline fonction does not seem to work anymore.  ...I have been using it for years!?  I select the cote to which I want to to add the jog line, it asks me where and then, nothing happens.  No error, not jogline?!

Thanks for your help,

Lucie

are you using BREAKLINE?

if so check your DIMSCALE it may be too small compared to the size jog line you are wanting.

Hi,

Is it Jogged linear which you are talking about.

Check the Jog Height factor in dimension style.

Also try it using your Osanps turned off.

If this does not solve your issue, please upload a sample image of your problem.

does anything happen if you change the draw order on the dimension?

Weird!  I changed the draw order and it did indeed put the "breakline or jogline (dont know how to call it)" in.  Only the first time though.  Then I changed the draw order and it put it again.  When I tried it again in the other direction, it did not work.  Also, it is never placed where I position it, even if I select the mid point, it puts it to the right or to the left.  I gives the feeling that it is outside of the dimension.  Is there a setting somewhere I need to change?

Hi,

Check the move with dimension line option from the grip edit in dimensions. The break may be there where you have applied but not showing.

Check the screen cast.

And one more problem just appeared, I can't select the blue handle anymore on the dimension line to extend it...are those problems related??

Hi,

Some of the system variables in your Autocad have been changed which are resulting in these issues.

Enter GRIPS  (change value to <2>)

Make sure your GRIPOBJLIMIT is set to a great value depending upon the objects.

Like if  <100> is the value then if the selection have more than 100 objects then grips will not be displayed.

So make it to (1000 or a higher value according to your drawings.

You are so quick in responding!  Thank you for your help, I don't feel so alone.

OK, I checked the variables you told me to and Grip was already at 2 and changing "gripobjlimit" to 1000 does not change anything.  Here is another weird thing. Because de jogline worked once, I copied it and changed it to my needs.  Yet when I copy it further in  my drawing, the jogline disappear.

Here is a video showing the variables setting

And one of the copy issue

Hi,

Try PURGE and AUDIT commands and check whether the copy issue is solved.

I am not able to read the spanish message written when you apply the dimjoglinear. Can you transilate the message shown when you apply jogged linear.

is it possible to upload the drawing?

Cheers,

Vinay Vijayakumaran

Hi Vinay,

Did the purge.  Nothing changed.  However, don't know what audit is.

I have attached the drawing.

Hi again,

I am noticing that when in paper space, the dimension line and the jogline operates just fine.  So it has to do with a scale or perhaps with the fact that the drawing has a "z" to it (a depth).

Hi,

From your drawing I noticed that the UCS is not parallel. That's why the jogged linear is not coming. So for making parallel you have to change the UCS to world. But this wont have any effect on your previous dimensions.

Check the screen cast for more details.

Check the link below for details regarding ucs not parallel error.
