Jerky Cursor in AutoCAD 2018

I've just started AutoCAD 2018 version.

I have everything working fine EXCEPT for a jerky cursor.

It works smoothly until a command is started.

Then, it takes a full second before it moves and then it jerks, almost as if a snap was set.

I've check past postings and have adjusted as suggested, but, to no avail.

I'm ready to start over and follow any suggestions you all out there might have.

Three commands have improved my overall CAD processing speed. Certain drawings, depending on the survey info will lag and you will skip as you pan or move your cursor. These 3 commands will help with this phenomenon most of the time.

1. Audit, run an audit and fix any potentially corrupted objects

2. Purge, purge all unnecessary embedded files/block ID's

3. Click the CAD icon > go to options > System > click Graphics Performance > Toggle Hardware acceleration to Off and enter 'Software Mode'. If you are already in Software mode, turn Hardware acceleration to ON. Some drawings work better with that off, others work better with that on. This has fixed my issues 90% of the time. For the other 10%, I suggest you go to devices on Windows, find your graphics card, and update it. Also, try restarting your computer or updating windows.

I had a problem like that when I was working over a survey xref inserted at the origin and the site being thousands of kilometers away. My solution , I cut and pasted just the parts I needed close to the origin on a new drawing.
