Hi and Welcome to AutoCAD Forum,

>> when we zoom in or out then how can we know  what is the dimensions of one grid <<

you can understand and control all the procedure ( grid spacing ) from DSETTINGS command. see below image . also for more information please read this link . >> Click <<

then try to untick Adaptive grid to make the grid look fixed when zooming . as seen from my first post every grid ( x,y ) has a space distance that your elements will depend on those spaces . every grid is 10 x 10 units ( you can change the value ) so if you draw 5 grids then your line will be 50 length units.

Hi,

>> can you find out difference between the below given pictures,

No, not just from looking to the screenshot. You can use command _DIST and show 2 grid points to know the raster distance.

Why do you need the grid? Either you are doing some schematics then turn off adaptive grid or you even don't need a grid, do you? Maybe we understand your needs of grid better when you describe some background info...

When I turn on grid then I only use it for orientation in 3D to see the XY plane, the distance is irrelevant for me.

The idea from using GRIDS is to make and prepare lines as a grid with known distances . now you can stop changing grids when zooming by an option that we've mentioned above. at the same time you can use ( recommended ) the SNAP ( F9 ) option which will guide you and jump over the grid by also known distances ( snap spacing ) that controlled by you and as your need.
