Is there any way other than TEXTFIT to fit the text in AutoCad?

Hi,

I am trying to translate the single line text from one CAD application to AutoCAD file(Means saveAs .DWG file). After translation, When I open the saved .DWG file in AutoCad, The total width of the text is being decreased or increased(Means Text is going beyond the boundary).

So I am trying to fit the text within specified boundaries during translation itself, so that the text in AutoCad after translation should be appeared as it appears in the application from where it is translated.

Does anybody have some idea about fitting the text within specified boundaries without using TEXTFIT?

Please find the attached example screenshots.

Hi,

>> ....some idea about fitting the text within specified boundaries without using TEXTFIT? <<

you can do that from the RULER shown above your mtext. just move your cursor over the marked area (see below image ) till the cursor changed to horizontal two arrow then double click to notice that the gab gone to fit your mtext.

if do you want to show the ruler ,i suggest to do the follow :

  • set MTEXTTOOLBAR to 1 .
  • follow the below image

Always FIT with 2 points :

Command: TEXT

Current text style:  "WD_IEC"  Text height:  1.8000  Annotative:  No  Justify:  Left
Specify start point of text or [Justify/Style]: J
Enter an option [Left/Center/Right/Align/Middle/Fit/TL/TC/TR/ML/MC/MR/BL/BC/BR]: FIT

Specify first endpoint of text baseline:
Specify second endpoint of text baseline:

FIT with fewer characters gives this :

I don't think that's what they're after -- as I read it, they're talking about "fixing" existing Text in a file converted from different CAD software.

@Anonymous, is it [once in AutoCAD] Text, or Mtext, or...?   What is its Justification?

Thank you @Kent1Cooper

This is a "Text" with "Top Left" justification.
