Is it Possible to Open Sheets in SSM in Model Space

I'm a relatively new user to SSM. I've created a sheet set with a few drawings that were all set up in model space. I've created a viewport in paperspace for plotting purposes, but all work is done in model space. Even the border resides in model space. If I open the drawing through windows explorer it opens in the last saved (Model or Paper). However, if I open the drawing through the SSM it will only open in Paperspace. I'd prefer it to open on the Model tab.

Anyone know how I can get Autocad to do this?

I'm using standard Autocad 2015. I do not have any fields created. I'm only using SSM for organization and plotting/publishing purposes.

No, this is not in SSM.
To print from a model, you can use additional Lisp tools, VBA, or external applications.
It's not a problem.

Paperspace Layouts are called "sheets", and that is all SSM (SheetSet Manager) will handle.

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

As others have kindly answered, the SheetSet Manager is really for managing the paperspace layouts in your project.  If you would like to see how easy the transition is from your current method of working only in Modelspace to one that takes advantage of both modelspace and paperspace, I am happy to look at one of your drawing sets.  If you would like me to do this with you, please zip up and attach a set of drawings along with any specific plot styles and fonts.

If your data needs to be private or confidential, please email it directly to me at [email protected] and please include a link to this thread in your email.

Thanks for the response.

I would prefer to set the projects up differently to fully utilize SSM, but the project I'm working on, and the folks I'm working with, doesn't lend itself to an easy transition. These are older drawings "checked out" from the client. There is only so much "modernization" that I can get away with.

Again, thanks for the response and thank you for the offer.
