There are some things that are easier in solidworks than in autocad. I would like to use both in my drawings, but I thought it might cause some problems.

Does opening the same drawing file in autocad and solidworks cause any errors or problems?

I'm in school right now. My school computers have both solidworks and autocad and I'm learning to use both. I'm just wondering if when I get a job my work computer will have autocad, but not solidworks. Is that common?

Hi @Anonymous,

I am not aware of any issues when working with the same file in both AutoCAD and Solidworks. I assume you will not be doing this at the same time as file locking will probably cause issues.

I suggest you give it a try on some smaller drawings and keep an extra backup copy secure just in case.
