Inventor 3D view onto AutoCAD drawing

How do I create a 3D view of an Inventor model to place on a detail drawing in AutoCAD?  Apparently, from numerous differently-worded Google searches, no one has ever needed to do this before.

Hi,

>> How do I create a 3D view of an Inventor model

Start AutoCAD, create a new drawing, activate a layout in that drawing and start command _VIEWBASE, this asks your for the Inventor file to view (>>>details<<<)

Hi @mestes8SKMV,

Alfred is correct that the VIEWBASE command should allow you to do this quite easily.  I made a quick video that illustrates the process of adding your Inventor model to your drawing and then creating views.  You cannot only produce projected views but also section views using this tool.
