Insufficient memory error when rendering

Anonymous
Not applicable

When i try to render an image in AutoCad 2016 in high quality, i get the error message: "there is insufficient system memory for the render operation". I was watching the memory usage just before the error occured and it was just above 8gb. I have 32gb memory on my PC, using 64bit windows 10. Has anyone any idea, why Autocad is showing insufficient memory error although there should be about 24gb left?Unbenannt.png

It needs more than just RAM: HD space and turning off background running applications too.

AFTER you restart your computer as the pop-up advises of course.

What is your Video card?

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Here is an article that suggests reducing the number of elements in the scene when rendering.

Here is another article that might help you to optimize the render process.

I'm sorry, but your posts didn't help me at all. My graphics card is Nvidia nvs 315 but i dont think this is relevant for the rendering process. And of course it doesn't help to clear the memory space before rendering as i said, i have more than 20gb of unused memory left when the error occurs. Both links you send me suggest lowering the render quality, wich as you can imagine isn't an option if you need high quality rendering.

The error has nothing to do with your video card: your system is choking due to lack of overall resources like these http://erroranswers.com/windows-update/fixing-your-computer-when-it-says-not-enough-memory/
and topi #2 here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-other_settings/windows-10-insufficient-...

Hi @Anonymous,

Did you try any of the steps listed in the second article I shared? One option also might be to use rendering on the cloud.

Hi,

>> What Should I do?

Reduce the resolution as well as change the quality from "high" to "draft" until it works. Then play with these settings until you get it rendered well.

You might also upload the drawing here so we can take a look into it.

I'm just guessing now: you are using mirror-like materials, but I don't see a geometry around your object, so the mirror calculation has it's difficulties ... 😉
