Install custom Hatch pattern

Hi all, I've downloaded and copied a .pat file into the default search support folder of ACad. When it comes to use the new pattern it gives me error "impossible to set Hpname to that value". How can i solve it?? Thank you very much.

First three questions:

Does the .pat file end with an empty line?  [When open in Notepad, Ctrl+End should put the cursor on an empty line at the bottom, not at the end of the last line of code -- that is, the last line of code content must not merely stop at the end, but be ended with an Enter/hard-return.]

Does the name of the .pat file exactly match the name of the pattern defined in it?  That's a requirement for single-pattern .pat files.

Does the file/pattern name contain any oddball characters?  Some punctuation characters may be forbidden.

EDIT:  And another shot in the dark -- if you copied the file into the folder while AutoCAD was open, and couldn't immediately use it, try closing AutoCAD and getting back in.  It may be that it goes looking for available Hatch patterns when it starts up, and won't know that one's there until the next time it does so.

It was the file name, it didn't match the name of the pattern! I didn't have any idea they can be edited in the notepad!

thank you!!!
