insertion point problem while copy pasting and drawing new line

when I try to paste the objects I have copied it always pastes at the end point of the reference line I am pasting on. It doesn't paste on the insertion point selected. And the same issue when I am drawing a new line with ortho option, the second point automatically sets to the nearest end point.

HI @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Instead of typing the insertion point, have you tried using an OSNAP to insert it to a known point on a piece of existing geometry?  When you copy, do you use the copy with basepoint option? That might make it easier.  You might also paste as a block in case you need to move it.

I already tried the osnap and also the copy with basepoint (crl+shift+c)
but the insertion point automatically goes to the end point of the line and
I am facing the same problem when I want to move my object to another point
on the reference line. it just keeps getting inserted at the end point of
the line

HI @Anonymous,

Please try turning off all you running OSNAPS. Then try to manually snap to your desired point by typing the OSNAP. Does that work? Can you share your file to see if it behaves in the  same way on my computer?
