Inserting/changing data to multiple .dwg files

I have a large set of drawings, and I need to change some data in each drawing, such as "project data", "drawing scale", "revision", ... etc.

Some of these data are in a block attribute and some are in the DWG properties.

Is there any way I can edit these data using an Excel sheet, for instance, or any other way!!!

@sogmalco,

Is the "project data", "drawing scale", etc. the same text in each drawing?

If yes, you could try this:

  1. Create a new drawing
  2. Start the XREF command and then Attach all the drawings that need editing.
  3. You could attach all at 0,0 and scale = 1.
  4. Now use the FIND command to find and replace the text. Be sure to enable the option to search xrefs

  5. Save the xrefs

Otherwise, you would need to use a script (.SCR) to open, edit, save, close each drawing.

I would welcome feedback from the community regarding how to change the data in the Dwg Properties for a set of drawings.

Regards,

Jerry
