Insert scale bar?

Is it possible to insert a scale bar? I have searched all over but the only instruction I got was to click insert scale bar in the annotation pallette, but no such thing exists. Surely this should be easy enough?

Type "TP" at the command line, then choose the Annotation tab.

TP gives me TP(CONTENT), which some sort of content window that is empty. But I didn't mean the annotation toolbar is missing, I meant the scale bar.

I have carefully gone to each button and let the tooltip open and there is nothing!

Is there a button that says "Paper"?

If you click it does it change to Model (and display the Scale List)?

What exact version/variant/flavor of AutoCAD are you using?
You started Content Browser I believe, the last reply wants you to start TOOPLATTES command, search for it on your screen menu.

No. I have a Layout/Model button but there is no scale list on either space.

There is a scale list in the menu toolbar though. Only it does nothing when I click on a scale.

Oh that reply came in while I was busy replying. I don't get anything like that but I have the annotation tools, just no scale bar.

I think you need to ask your questions in the AutoCAD for Mac forum.

Thanks. I drew a bunch of rectangles in the way I wanted my bar to appear, labeled it and as long as it's shown in the same scale as my drawing it works.

Nestly2 .... thank you so much for sharing this!!!! I'm new to autocad but well versed in another cad program and absolutely hated this program until I stuumbled upon your reply.

I am now so happy that there are preconstructed images that I can use! like North Arrow and scale bars.  I thought I was going to have to go this all by hand or insert from google searches.  I was quite upset about this as dynascape already has it installed!!!

thank you thank you! I am forever grateful in your knowledge share!
