Insert command not working

I can create a new block and save it to our server. I usually type insert to add it to a drawing. For some reason, when I type insert, nothing happens. I have tried using the insert tab to locate the block under libraries but still nothing. I have to open the block file and copy and paste it in. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Does it show anything at the Command line?  A prompt?  A message of some kind?  If you're expecting a dialog box, and it doesn't bring that up but has a prompt at the Command line, check you FILEDIA System Variable setting.

FILEDIA is currently set at 1. What are the options? I don't know anything about this.

I use toolbars and noticed in the upgrade to 2020, the interface for inserting blocks changed.  I did not care for the change so now I type "classicinsert" into the command line to use the old interface.  This may be an option if all else fails.

I was experiencing this problem and CLASSICINSERT also worked - also prompted me that the original dwg title was too long and prompted me to re-assign the title within the drawing. I just renamed it to something shorter and solved the problem. Posting just in case it helps someone else!
