What is the most effective way to x-ref a pdf into a cad file to print along with a set of drawings while still maintaining decent print quality but reasonable file size and plot time?

Thank you!

Hi @Tallans422,

Thank you for posting today!

PDFs can only be attached as Underlays. A lot of PDF enhancements were made in AutoCAD 2016, so if you have access to the latest version, I recommend checking it out. You'll see better performance and quality with zooming, panning, and plotting than in previous years.

The file size and plot quality will ultimately depend on the quality of the PDF itself. A PDF created from a physical scan will typically be of lower quality than a PDF plotted directly from AutoCAD or another software, for instance.

Are there specific issues you're running into while references and plotting PDFs in your files?
