Importing DXF derived from Pix4D / UAS point cloud data

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I am using Sensefly's eBee and associated Postflight Terra 3D (Pix4D) software to generate georeferenced (OSGB/BNG) point clouds, as well as additional outputs such as the 3D mesh models and rasters.  Most are derived from several flight surveys stiched together, typically stretching between 3 - 5 sq km.  The resulting datasets are massive; with each outputs in the Gb.

I'm trying to use the mesh model's DXF output format using a host of AutoCAD's suite of software but seemingly have hit a wall.  The two screenshots give an idea of the problem.  In creating this DXF in Pix4D, the process is pretty straight forward:

* create tiepoints from geotagged images;

* georeference with GCPs

* generate densified point cloud +3D mesh +rasters +etc

Could this be an issue with Pix4D, or perhaps an issue the georeferencing, or is it my lack of AutoCAD experience (too much GIS).  I'm stumped.  Any and all advice from this forum would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks for reading and all the best,

Paul

You say "AUTOCAD" but you are using REVIT, a totally and completely different program altogether that is not related to AutoCAD in any way, shape or form.

Do you need to move to the REVIT forum?

Apologies, I've been trying a number of software suites to try and test the output DXF mesh file.

My main aim is to have the model work within an AutoCAD environment, so any help specifically on that would be welcomed.

Share your DXF file here let's all have a look: but 99.99% of the time it's the authorizing program that creates the results you see in AutoCAD/REVIT and others and it depends on their ability to handle the conversion for the destination programs.
