IMPORTING AN AUTOCAD ARCHITECTURE FILE INTO SKETCHUP

I have an autoCAD architecture file that I received from an architect.  I used it to create my kitchen layout, etc.  I cannot import it into Sketchup where the walls, doors, window, etc. show up.  I tried saving it as a 2013 file, I tried changing the presentation settings, any other ideas?  I know I can save it as a PDF but I prefer importing the dwg file.

Hi,

Before you import a file, it's helpful to know what CAD entities SketchUp Pro does and doesn't support and how to prepare your CAD file for best results. please read more info from here . >> Click <<

that did not work, as I tried to save in version 13.  But I "exploded" the drawing and that did the trick.

thanks,

That's pretty much what that document in the link noted, in case you did not know, ADT is an old name for AutoCADARCH
